Who we are

ABOUT THE STEWARDS

Stewards of America is a national political organization built around human authority, accountable technology and American civic responsibility.

Our purpose

People remain responsible.

The Stewards formed around a question that increasingly shaped government, business and daily life: who gets to decide when powerful systems can act faster than people can review them?

Our answer is the Human Imperative. Technology can calculate, model, advise and execute at extraordinary speed. Human beings retain final judgment when government power, national defense, the economy or individual rights are at stake.

Our principles

What we stand for.

Human beings occupy the judgment layer. Technology occupies the execution layer. That principle applies whether the system is operating in a courtroom, a command center, a bank, a hospital, a school or a workplace.

HUMAN AUTHORITY

Consequential decisions remain attributable to a person.

COGNITIVE LIBERTY

People retain sovereignty over their minds, bodies and neural data.

ACCOUNTABLE TECHNOLOGY

Advanced systems serve defined human purposes and remain subject to human review.

ECONOMIC RESILIENCE

Automation may change production without eroding the national revenue base or eliminating human opportunity.

How we are organized

The Steward National Committee

The SNC coordinates national operations between conventions. State organizations handle ballot access, candidate recruitment and field work. Local chapters manage the day-to-day organizing that turns national principles into elections, events and constituent service.

Year-round organization

Show up between elections.

Steward committees operate year-round, with training, issue forums, voter-registration work, candidate recruitment and community service continuing beyond campaign season.

The national committee supports state and local organizations with legal, field, communications and compliance resources while candidates and elected officials remain responsible to their own offices and constituents.

The crow mark

Why the crow.

The crow began as a political jab at President Nadine Velasquez and became one of the Stewards’ most recognizable symbols.

During a series of public fights over Steward policy, Velasquez kept returning to the same issues even after Washington had moved on. The Senate Majority Leader eventually told reporters that the President “just wouldn’t stop crowing about it.” Velasquez leaned into the remark. Supporters picked it up, campaign offices started using the bird, and the crow quickly became identified with Stewards of America.

The meaning stuck because it fit the movement: Stewards do not believe political inconvenience is a reason to stay quiet. When a problem affects the country, individual liberty, national security or the long-term public interest, they keep talking about it even when the subject is unpopular, uncomfortable or something powerful institutions would rather ignore.

Our history

The event that made microdrone policy unavoidable.

October 2037 — Wall Street, New York

The Thorne & Barrett Massacre

A private-wealth client, financially ruined after a leveraged position collapsed and triggered a collateral call, released illegally modified Wasp microdrones into the environmental system of the Thorne & Barrett investment bank. The swarm emerged from vents throughout the building. More than 400 employees, clients, contractors and responders were killed.

Hours later

The Financial Block Goes Dark

NYPD could not clear the building while active drones continued moving through inaccessible mechanical spaces. With the governor's approval, the New York National Guard deployed wide-area electromagnetic suppression over the affected block. The drones stopped, along with virtually every unshielded electronic system in the suppression zone. Remote data survived while neighboring financial firms spent weeks and months replacing trusted hardware and restoring fully certified operations.

The campaign that followed

Four Hundred Reasons

The Stewards campaigned for a categorical constitutional prohibition covering police, intelligence agencies, corporations, research organizations and the military. The amendment was proposed by Congress and ultimately ratified by the states.

After ratification

Mia and the Citizen Interdiction Credit

Congress established the Microdrone Interdiction Administration, universally called “Mia,” to certify defensive arrays. Any manufacturer may seek certification, and status is instantly verifiable on the Quantum Net. American citizens receive a 100% refundable federal credit for qualifying Mia-certified systems installed at residences or personal conveyances.
